Waxy Gingersnaps

The Kitchen

Waxy gingersnaps are a necessity during the Christmas season at our house.  I am not certain why these are called waxy, because they are not waxy at all!  LOL!  This is a recipe that Prince Charming’s mom has given to us and has been passed down the generations.  We fix these every year during this season.   These are Prince Charming’s favorite cookie, ever!  They are that perfect combination of ginger, sweet, but yet soft and chewy.  These are NOT the gingerbread cookies that you make houses with- rather they are gingersnaps.  Gingerbread cookies tend to be flat and hard to eat where these are a little fluffy and soft.

Ill warn you now- these are NOT healthy, but they are delicious!  I have a hard time using crisco in anything, so you can substitute that with butter and coconut oil if you want.

So lets get to making cookies for your neighbors or your whole family while making your house smell amazing at the same time!
